Many witches, and people who are not witches, use
divination methods to foresee the future or gain other knowledge. There are different methods of divination
and some witches may practise a few, while some will have their preffered method that they use. The methods that are
talked about on this page are divining with a pendulum, reading oracle cards, and scrying with a crystal ball, or water
or smoke.
Using a Pendulum
Pendulums are used to find answers by asking yes and
no questions, and to find hidden objects. Many people use a crystal attached to a chain or string as their pendulum,
others use a key or a ring.
The basic principle of using your pendulum to find answers to yes and no questions
is to hold it between your thumb and forefinger, so that it can swing freely but you have a firm hold of it. After you
are familiar or in touch with your pendulum, ask it "show me yes" and "show me no", you will notice it's movements, perhaps
back and forth for yes and left and right for no. You can also check this by asking "is my name ....?" to see if it
swings the way you noticed as yes. You could also ask "show me maybe", to save time when you are shown an unsure answer,
then your pendulum may swing in circles.
